Although Paul Revere thought that riding a horse through Boston was a brilliant idea, we found that jumping on bikes loaded with gear was just as effective. After a pleasantly sunny day in New England, we’ve made our way from Portsmouth, NH to Boston, MA.
Eastern Massachusetts has hills? Who knew? We obviously missed that minor fact during geography class, but with a little extra effort, we were able to complete another day in this long journey.
Had a great time in Boston. Met some great people in the Charlestown neighborhood and enjoyed the generous hospitality of our friend Pat, the newest adopted member of our little fan club. Although we didn’t fair too well during trivia night at the extremely historic Warren’s Tavern (see: G. Washington, P. Revere), we had some great trivia teammates in Kelly and Christina, a couple transplanted Hudson Explorers.
The legs are a bit sore, but that is to be expected. The gear and bikes are still holding up well, and most importantly, morale and motivation are still through the roof.
Now we’re off to Connecticut. Thanks to everyone for their support and donations to the Wounded Warrior Project. We sincerely appreciate it and use it as inspiration when a large hill is so conveniently placed directly in front of us.
Back to the bikes…
